Sonoma Valley High School, Day 5 (March 24, 2016)

Thursday morning was our last day working in the community already. We really got a lot accomplished! It was super sweet to see how many people from El Papayal joined us over the course on the week. It will be hard to say goodbye on Saturday!

After more of the same bending, cutting, and building with wires of all shapes and sizes, mixing concrete and playing with the kids, we headed off to Laguna de Apoyo, which is a huge lake in the mouth of an inactive volcano. It is SOOOO beautiful up here! We all swam for hours (until dinner) and then swam after dinner until about 9pm. At about 11:00 last night, Amy came running out of her bedroom screaming, at the top of her lungs!!! Dora-Aldina and I jumped out of bed. She was holding her finger and had been stung by a bee while taking her dress out of a backpack! With all of the yelling, we thought she had cut off her finger. All the girls jumped out of bed and came running. We gave her ice and bug bite stuff and they were back off to bed. She’s fine now!

This morning we woke up at 5am and came down to the dock to watch the sunrise. Photos to be posted soon.
