Winds of Change rebuilds water pump in Pedro Arauz

By Casey Callais 7/15/2016 — Water changes everything.

It was a long week of cutting metal, welding parts, making it work and getting it right but on Friday morning the Toronto-based organization Winds of Change, working with Seeds of Learning and local community members, were able to raise the newly rebuilt water pumping turbine in the village of Pedro Arauz, Nicaragua.

The papalote  will be able to pump water up nearly 90 feet from the bottom of the well to a water tank where it is then be distributed to the Learning Resource Center, school and student agricultural area that SOL helped to create.
