We work in partnership with communities across Central America and Mexico to support education through relevant, community-driven initiatives that address local needs.

Learning Resource Centers

Since 1995, we’ve partnered with communities across Nicaragua to establish and support 10 Learning Resource Centers that drive lifelong learning and empower local populations. These centers offer books, educational materials, technology, classes, and workshops for children and adults. Community-managed, they ensure sustainability and continuously adapt to the changing needs of the local population.

Scholarships

Seeds of Learning empowers Nicaraguan students by providing scholarships that break down barriers to education. These scholarships offer more than financial aid—they also include opportunities for students to engage in art, dance, music, and guitar courses, volunteer in their communities, and receive mentorship, tutoring, and workshops to support their personal and academic growth.

Educational Infrastructure

We partner with communities to build and improve school infrastructure that meets local needs and priorities. Together, we’ve constructed 274 educational rooms across 96 communities, creating safe and functional learning spaces in rural areas. By working closely with local leaders, and community volunteers, we ensure each project is sustainable and designed to serve the community for years to come.

Cross-Cultural Education

Our Work Group program brings together North American volunteers and local communities in Central America and Mexico to work on community-identified and led projects. It also serves as a cultural immersion program, promoting cross-cultural understanding and collaboration, as volunteers work side by side to improve education in a community.
